Lizzie has a baby!

Congratulations LIZZIE!

Lizzie’s baby is in Joburg Gen in the ICU, so we can’t get photos. Besides, she has so many tubes and wires around her, you can hardly even see her.

Her name is Kgaladi and she weighed 800 g at birth. She was born at 27 weeks. Lizzie had to have an emergency Caesarean Section.

Lizzie has been home for a week now and visits baby every day.

Kgaladi is fighting hard, but this has been a difficult week. She has lost some weight and had to receive additional blood. She is being tube fed as she cannot suck herself yet. Luckily she has did not developed jaundice.

All the best from the staff at Khulisa - we hope she can come home soon!

Khulisa's Amazing Race Christmas Party at Head Office

Nanette, Maxine and Donna organised our end of year MADNESS! Here are some pictures that might give you and idea... Marleine's team won the race - but everyone had fun on a treasure hunt, eating (or trying their best not to) garlic pelony, and the two highlights: playing games and delivering christmas goodies to a shelter in Soweto, and of course the lunch (prepared lovingly by Sarah) for the whole crew with Christmas cheer.

News from the North West

Jabu from Rustenburg had a baby boy on 29th December, 2.8kg.

The driver in Rustenburg had an accident with the Khulisa car on 12 December 2008 just after dropping off Bheki at home from a check up at the doctor.

North West staff had their year end function at Bona-Bona game reserve near Wolmaranstad on the 5th December. We had a game drive and very nice food. We really enjoyed it.
